How to Deal With Tons of Spam Email

When you get a new email account it is fresh and clean. You only get messages to people you give this email address to. It's a nice experience like email should be. Eventually this account starts getting more and more spam on a daily basis. It can get to the point where going through email messages become a chore. There are a few techniques to dealing with these spam messages.
The first is to use some sort of filtering. Many desktop clients will offer a spam filter of sorts if your online mailbox does not. There are different types of filters. One type of filter will catch the most commonly used words and phrases for spam email. These would have to do with subject about money transfers, Viagra, and famous watches. Many filters update themselves to catch the most common stuff.

You can also set a manual filter. If you are getting quite a bit of email from a certain email address, you can blacklist that email account to not get those messages. Another way is to filter out the words that you don't want to see at all. This could capture some email you want to keep but for the most part will do more good than harm.
A different strategy is to filter the email addresses that you want to see. If it's a personal account when you give out your email, go to your email and set it so that you only see email from certain addresses. This for personal purposes will make going through your email much easier. If you are a business and need open contact, this will not be a good strategy.
